1. 1. _________ Go to a playground in a park and watch some children. Pick one boy and imagine the rest of his life. Make a list of all the things people will tell him he shouldn’t do because he’s a boy. Then pick a girl and think about how she’ll be spending her time from now on….
Not related to music, really, but I thought it was worth reblogging.

Texan musicians living in Nebraska and vice versa?
Dear followers,
For my dayjob (NPR reporter), I’m thinking of doing a story about Texas musicians (of any gender) living in Nebraska and Nebraska musicians (of any gender) living in Texas (specifically Austin and nearby locales) for SXSW coverage. If you know of an individual who fits either category, please message me. Thanks, everyone!

an accurate portrayal of being a girl at a concert
The RAA is on Saddle Creek Records in Omaha. I saw them at SXSW last year and really enjoyed their performance, but even though they’re one of my friend Natasha’s favorite bands, I haven’t given them much of a listen since. I need to remedy that.
And the video is...

I saw the Conduits Sunday night at a Hear Nebraska launch party, and I was blown away. Featuring former members of Neva Dinova and Eagle*Seagull, they make amazing music. I’ve asked them to come on the show, but they’re based in Omaha, so it could be hard to get all the members down to Lincoln on the middle of a Thursday … I’ll keep you guys posted.

I saw them perform here in Lincoln last year, and it was phenomenal:
I haven’t listened to Mirah, Thao or Thao &...
